Our client based in Durban is seeking a Data Platform Support / Operation Engineer to join their team!
If you are a Developer with 5 -10 years experience in .Net, C#, MS sql, Postgres Sql and looking for a new opportunity, send your CV to us today.
Please note: This will be an on site position
Operational support:
- Triage and resolve tickets/alerts across all themes.
- Keep queues under control and avoid long-running “zombie” tickets.
Stability & improvement:
- Maintain and improve runbooks for common requests and incidents.
- Identify noisy/repetitive issues and work with data engineering to:
- automate handling, or
- harden pipelines and data models.
Communication & hygiene:
- Keep Jira tickets up to date and correctly themed.
- Communicate clearly with requestors and stakeholders
- Provide simple monthly stats by theme and highlight top pain points.
- Experience
- Strong SQL and familiarity with Snowflake:
- roles, grants, warehouses, basic performance troubleshooting.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and job monitoring:
- scheduled jobs, task dependencies, logs, alerts.
- Comfortable with dashboards/BI and basic data-quality investigations.
- Solid written communication, triage skills, and willingness to own an operational queue.
- Strong SQL and familiarity with Snowflake:
